He writes that the different spiritual paths can be accurately profiled by the personality types of the Enneagram. In their exoteric dimension, their outer form, these paths tend to resemble and behave like one of the nine personality types of the Enneagram. In its structure, its belief systems and its shadow each religion reflects a certain fixation and specific way of dealing with inner reality and the experiences of the soul. Each religion also has an esoteric or mystical dimension that is more closely linked to the transformative experiences of their spiritual founder. The Protestant Reformation came about because many Christians, especially in Northern Europe, felt their religion was being faithful enough to the true principles of Christianity. Ridding oneself of obscurations, defilements and impediments became extremely important. Morality and social responsibility also take on a much higher value.
So, What Are the ‘Personality Types’, Really
They draw people to themselves like bees to honey. It is rare to find an ENFP who is not surrounded by people hanging on their every word. They are the life of the party. They have a natural charisma that puts people at ease and makes even the most lonely, or damaged, among us feel like we are understood and valued as human beings.

Enneagram maps out nine distinct strategies for each type to relate to the self, others and the world. Each Enneagram type has a different pattern of thinking, feeling and acting that arises from a deeper inner motivation or worldview. With Enneagram, one will begin to understand external behaviors, underlying attitudes and motivations, base emotions, conscious and unconscious motivations, defense mechanisms etc of any person you meet.
By learning what EnneaMatch is all about, you not only explore your own personality in a new way, you also learn which personality types are easier for you to connect with — and why.
As I observe this phenomenon, I am growing more and more concerned about the work of upholding the integrity of the Enneagram as a valid tool for self study, psychological counseling, and personal, professional, and spiritual development. We see Enneagram tests being used inappropriately on dating websites and for online contests in a way that sullies the academic validity of the Enneagram, gives the taker the wrong impression of the Enneagram, and indeed gives them a false measurement of their Enneagram type.
No single Enneagram test can insure the accurate typing of every person that takes it. We suggest that people take more than one test, compare the results, and consider them a guide as to their Enneagram type. We suspect that many of the new Enneagram tests we see proliferating on the Internet have been proven to provide accurate results. There are two current online tests with statistical merit, and each has a different format for type selection.
Please see below for links to those tests. We think these Enneagram tests are of high quality, and surely worth investigating.

I found out that I was an INFJ type many years ago and have since developed a very close affinity to the label, not that I like being boxed into a category, but more that it made me feel less self conscious about the way I am and the way I view the world… especially having gone through life feeling a little odd and different to others.
This made even more sense after finding out that the INFJ male is listed as the rarest of the personality types coming in at 0. Originally I put down my differences as being a result of my hearing loss, i. Anyway, I digress, after discovering the INFJ type, finally I understood why I felt out of place and more importantly, after further reading and research, I found and connected with others of the same type initially through an online forum called PersonalityCafe.
Enneagram 3 and dating/relationships. (ram) I think being an enneagram 3 gives me a lot of appreciation for Fe, especially in terms of relationships. I struggle enough with authenticity as it is, so it’s nice to be with someone who doesn’t have “competing” Fi, so to speak.
Becca Nelson I really hate it when people tell me I need to work on myself before pursuing a relationship with someone else. But even so, I am reminded nearly every day that a part of me is fundamentally broken. This is the part that seeks our own comfort and covers up our flaws and likes to pretend like we already have it all figured out. Like the more commonly-known Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, our type helps us to better understand our strengths and weaknesses. However, the Enneagram goes a step further by forcing us to come to terms with ourselves in an even deeper way by acknowledging the root of our sin.
Maybe my own obsession with the Enneagram started because my own type Type 4 is said to have a strong desire to understand myself. However, the first time I read my type description, I was horrified. It was as if all of the deepest, darkest parts of me were all spilled out on that page, leaving me exposed. I read the descriptions of the other eight types as well, wishing I could have their character flaws instead of my own.

This is about your friendship with that particular friend. Compliments are the same. And more importantly — complimenting and praising each other as women is important because genuine praise is a gift you generously give to another woman that is worth far more than the effort it takes to give it.

From an evolutionary standpoint this all makes sense.
The pentangle plays an important symbolic role in the 14th-century English poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight , in which the symbol decorates the shield of the hero, Gawain. The unnamed poet credits the symbol’s origin to King Solomon , and explains that each of the five interconnected points represents a virtue tied to a group of five: Gawain is perfect in his five senses and five fingers, faithful to the Five Wounds of Christ, takes courage from the five joys that Mary had of Jesus, and exemplifies the five virtues of knighthood.
By the mid th century a further distinction had developed amongst occultists regarding the pentagram’s orientation.

For 20 years, he was a priest in the Church of England – then gave it up to start life anew. Today, he is a writer and a leader of spiritual retreats. In a remarkable new book, he reveals the secrets of the Enneagram: This famous story by Alexandre Dumas is built around a fascinating premise: The true king is denied sunlight, honour and the right to speak – while his country suffers in his absence.
I find it a very good metaphor for the way we all live our lives. Deep inside every one of us lies our true self – imprisoned by our false, outward personality. This false personality is not just the face we show to others, it’s also the face we show to ourselves and which we’ve come to believe in as true. But it is a usurper.
The Enneagram could unlock doors to your inner psyche, remove the iron mask and reveal the inner you. But which personality are you? To enter the castle of our psyche, disarm the guards, unlock the door of the cell, remove the iron mask and set free the rightful heir within – well, this requires much courage. Yet, even more than courage, it requires honesty.
